2023 Year In Review: 30 Flights, Lufthansa First, And Other Highlights
As we wrap up 2023, it’s an excellent opportunity to reflect on and be grateful for what we’ve done and gone through. Each year, I write a short post summarizing all my flights, and I was looking forward to this one. Here’s my 2023 year in review.
According to my.flightradar24, I took 30 flights, traveled 83.000km, 116 hours, and emitted 10 tons of CO2. That’s about 2-3 flights per month. For some reason, I had the impression it would be more flights overall, as I went down two flights compared to 2022. Looking at it in more detail, I see that (1) there were a couple of months I was too busy with work and took no flights at all, plus (2), as I temporarily relocated to Argentina for a while, there’s a hub shift to EZE/AEP and almost no flights from ARN.
All in all, it was a great flight with experiences I loved, such as trying Lufthansa 747-8 First, United 777 Polaris Business, and American 777-300ER Flagship Business for the first time. I also flew the World Cup winner’s plane and the 737 MAX.
Wishing you all a fantastic 2024 with lots of health and travel. Until next year, and happy flying!

When it comes to the trends and rankings, the past three years have been ramping up and pretty stable compared to how many flights I was taking pre-pandemic. My peak was in 2017 with 77 flights, which is really tricky for me to achieve. Argentina remains my top country, with Sweden in 2nd place.
