Roame Travel is a new player in award flight search engines. With its pretty UI and useful pricing information, in this post we put it to test.
I decided to reach out to AwardFares creators, Philip Bergqvist and Richard Simko, to get some of the “behind the scenes” of the tool. Enjoy this interview!
For a long time, it was not possible to book flights on Singapore Airlines with EuroBonus points through the SAS website. It was also hard to check availability for award seats. All the reservations had to be made via phone, and it usually took hours to find what you wanted. Sometimes, even multiple calls. Now, you can use the Star Alliance Bonus Ticket on flysas.com to search for awards and book them right away. It is also possible to use American Express Fly 2 for 1 vouchers when booking.
I had more than 750.000 SAS EuroBonus points in my account and I was afraid that the airline would shut down the program or devalue the points after the recent strike. I used more than 174.000 SAS EuroBonus points in these 3 flights to secure the value of those points. I show you all my three redemptions.
AwardFares is such a great tool to search for Star Alliance availability on multiple frequent flyer programs. Now they have introduced Seat Map integrations directly in the tool, as well as release dates, and more.
AwardFares has released some new features and more are in the works for 2022. Star Alliance award search is back with the SAS EuroBonus program. Watch the full tutorial video.
Booking with EuroBonus points on Star Alliance flights have been cancelled since April 2020. SAS recently opened up their system again, so you can now start booking your flights on Lufthansa, United, ANA, Turkish and more using SAS EuroBonus points (and even Amex 2-4-1 vouchers). Enjoy!
SeatSpy is a great new tool to find reward seat availability across multiple cabins and setting WhatsApp and SMS seat alerts. It’s similar to AwardFares, but for British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, although they report more airlines and features are about to come! Huge promo for early adopters.
As a frequent flyer you might have a ton of questions and uncertainty about what to do with your miles and points. Are we going to loose them? Will miles get devalued? What happens if the airline goes bankrupt? Can I extend my elite qualifying period? When will I be able to book award seats again? Here are some thoughts…
Given the current airline crisis caused by coronavirus, almost no one is flying anymore, and it is interesting to see how award seat availability is increasing in the next months (April and May). I took a couple of screenshots with the tool AwardFares (Star Alliance)
