Bank Norwegian interest rate was just increased to 1.8% on savings accounts effective today, November 4th, 2022. Last September, the central bank increased the repo rates by 1%. Now it is more expensive to borrow money (loans and mortgages will go up), but there is also more incentive to save money in bank accounts (similar to what happened during 2013-2014).
In November 2021, Bank Norwegian was acquired by the Swedish bank Nordax Bank AB. Now the two banks are planning to carry out an intra-group merger where the operations of Bank Norwegian will be transferred to Nordax Bank. Bank Norwegian is sending out notifications to customers, as they are obliged to inform you as a customer before the merger takes place. The merger is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023 at the latest.
Komplett Bank has just announced that they stop issuing credit cards in Sweden from October 24th, 2022. Already existing users are not affected (yet). This change will most likely remain until 2023. This is a real pity since Komplett Bank had one of the best free credit cards in Sweden, with bonus points on all purchases and a very solid system.
