Upgrading to Curve Metal 2022
Some months ago I upgraded to Curve Metal (2022 edition), which offers a few extra features like better cash back at the retailers I use (ICA, IKEA, Amazon, Marriott, Apple, Uber, etc.), phone and travel insurance, and access to airport lounges.

I will try it for a few months to see if, and when, it is worth that money. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I have a feeling that if I manage to squeeze their cashback offers on 6 retailers, plus insurance, plus airport lounges, the fee might be worth it. In any case, downgrading is easy, and there’s no issuing fee or delivery fee once you upgrade, like other cards. It’s all covered by the initial fee.
Curve Metal Delivery Time
Once you upgrade via the Curve app, the card was shipped just a couple of days later and took about 3 to 4 days to get it home. I wanted to do a quick unboxing to share with you. IMHO, this is by far the best looking metal debit card in 2022 yet. I will make a post soon with all the metal cards I have already, including the Amex Platinum, HSCB Premier World Elite MasterCard, Revolut Metal and Crypto.com Royal Indigo.
Sure, there are many credit cards coming in metal these days, and some of them are really sleek. However, there are not so many metal debit cards out there, and it’s hard to find this level of detail and build quality.
The card feels great in the hand, but it is heavy (18g). Packaging is nice, although there’s a lot of waste for just the card. It feels as if the packaging was designed for something else, and they adjusted it for the card.
Anyways, let me know your thoughts in the comments! Glad to read your reaction as well.
