SAS Opens New Route To Bangkok Next October (2023)
Exciting news! Scandinavian Airlines SAS opens new route to Bangkok, Thailand. This route had been in operation 9 years ago, and now they will “restart” the service, starting on October 30th, 2023.
The schedule is set with direct flights from Copenhagen to Bangkok three times a week using the Airbus A350. The flights are overnight in both directions. The route will cater to business and leisure travelers, connecting Scandinavia with a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and historical sites. In addition to the Bangkok route, SAS will continue its three-time weekly services to Tokyo, Haneda, and Shanghai as part of its Winter 2023/2024 program.
The flight is already bookable on SAS website. I did a quick search, and these are the prices from Copenhagen.

And also some options from Stockholm

Thailand has historically been a very popular destination for Swedes for several reasons:
- Climate: Thailand’s tropical climate, with warm temperatures and abundant sunshine, attracts Swedes seeking respite from Scandinavia’s cold and dark winters.
- Affordability: The cost of living in Thailand is relatively low compared to Sweden. Swedes love a high-quality vacation experience at a fraction of the cost compared to many European destinations.
- Beautiful landscapes: Thailand boasts picturesque beaches, lush jungles, and stunning landscapes, offering numerous opportunities for outdoor activities like swimming, sunbathing, and hiking.
- Rich culture and history: Thailand’s vibrant culture, with its unique traditions, cuisine, and historical sites, appeals to Swedes interested in experiencing a different way of life and exploring ancient temples, palaces, and other landmarks.
- Warm hospitality: The Thai people are known for their warm and welcoming nature, which makes visitors feel at ease and contributes to the overall appeal of the country.
- Well-developed tourism infrastructure: Thailand has a well-established tourism industry with a wide range of accommodation options, from budget guesthouses to luxury resorts, making it easy for Swedes to find suitable lodgings.
