Back in March, Plutus migrated to a new banking provider called Modulr, and announced that they will be launching a new Plutus virtual card on July 25th. The rollout has been gradual, and quite slow, but is finally coming to an end, so pretty much all their existing user base now has access to virtual cards.
Here’s a quick guide on how to order your new virtual card step-by-step.
Note: remember that the old (Solaris) Plutus card is expiring on August 15th, and you need to use all your balance before that, otherwise, you’ll lose it.
How to order the Plutus Virtual Card
1. Update the Plutus app
Update the Plutus app via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to ensure you have the latest version.
2. Wait for the notification
If you don’t see the migration button inside the app, you’ll have to wait until you get a notification via email or on your phone (rollout is gradual).
3. Tap on Order Virtual Card
Inside the app, under the Card tab, you’ll see a Order Virtual Card button.
4. Tap on Complete security info
You’ll see a popup with a preview of the virtual card; tap on Complete Security Info.
5. Answer your security question
To prove your identity before moving forward, you’ll need to reply to your security question. This is the same question you configured when you created your account.
6. Wait until your request gets processed
It takes a few minutes until the card is generated, meanwhile, you will see the following screen.
7. See your cards
Once it is ready, your new virtual card will show up under the Card tab.
If you tap on the eye icon, you can see your card details
You will also be able to see the new physical card coming Q3 2023, and the old Solaris card (legacy)
Conclusion: New Plutus Virtual Card
Ordering the new Plutus virtual card is straightforward with the new app update and takes only a few minutes. Remember to update your billing information with your providers such as Spotify, Netflix, Amazon, or any other perk merchant they offer.
