I woke up to some fantastic news today! According to Swedavia’s Airport Press Release, ANA All Nippon Airways will open a new direct route between Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) and Tokyo Haneda (HND) during Summer 2020.
According to the press release:
Japan is ranked as Sweden’s largest export market in Asia after China. About 150 Swedish companies are established in Japan, both large companies and start-up companies operating in the world’s third largest economy. Sweden, in turn, is the largest Nordic export market for Japan and 160 Japanese companies operate here.
– We see an increasing demand for trips to Japan. ANA is now increasing the number of international airlines while Tokyo Haneda is expanding to adapt to the growing market of incoming Japanese tourism. The new direct line will make traveling smoother for passengers who can now fly directly to Japan and easily transfer through our “dual-hub” strategy, says Seiichi Takahashi , Senior Vice President of ANA.
Doing some more research, I found a press release from ANA with some new routes and schedule:
ANA All Nippon Airways new routes and frequencies, including a direct flight from Stockholm to Tokyo Haneda (HND).
As it seems, the flight will be operated by a 787-900, but hopefully in the future they will bring the 777 with their newer cabin.
As you might now, ANA is a member of Start Alliance, so hopefully we can book on ANA using SAS Eurobonus Points. I will research more on this and keep you posted.
Ticket sales will start mid-December according to press release, so I’ll make sure to keep an eye on it to try to get on their first flight and review!
